10 Years of Love…and Scrabble!

To celebrate Barry and Merlie’s 10th wedding anniversary at the Hale Koa Hotel, they came to us with a very special cake request.  Both are avid Scrabble players, as in they have their very own “Scrabble Champ” trophy that gets passed back and forth to the winner of the game, and the loser has to bow down…heehee.  Barry even created a special Scrabble board for them – a beautifully framed board, filled with different words from their lives, such as “Kauai” for where they met, and my favorite, their mantra “BMWGOG” – Barry and Merlie Wilmeth, Growing Old Gracefully.  And for their anniversary cake, they wanted us to replicate that board.

They chose our Yellow Butter Cake with Fresh Strawberries.  And everything on the cake – from the tiles, to the Scrabble tile bag, to the standing tile holders were completely edible, made out of sugar.

We had a fun time creating this special cake for such an amazing couple – you can tell that they are so in love with each other.  Congratulations Barry and Merlie – we wish you many more years of happiness.
