Darsie & Kai’s Hawaiian Inspired Wedding Cake
This Is “Major” …
In-Action Photo Shoot
A couple weeks ago I did a fun photo shoot with my friend Athena of Athena Plichta Photography. I first connected with Athena when she shot a birthday party for little Chole’s Abby Cadabby theme 2nd birthday. We got to work together again when she shot the Cupcakes & Aprons feature for Military Spouse Magazine and I’m excited to work together again on a beautiful wedding in the fall! Athena’s lifestyle photography is bright & fun and she does a great job at capturing the moment. Check out her latest keiki, ohana & in-love sessions on her blog.
Janel & Andrew’s Cherry Blossom Wedding Cake
Janel & Andrew celebrated their Hawaii destination wedding with this modern and chic Cherry Blossom theme wedding cake. Their 3 tiered cake was adorned with cascading and climbing soft pink sugar flower cherry blossoms. I love the clean, simple elegance of the delicate flowers and buds. The cake flavors they selected were our Yellow Butter Cake with Fresh Strawberry Cream filling and Coconut Cake with Coconut Cream filling. Along with their wedding cake we provided a small cupcake tree with Devils Food Chocolate Cupcakes filled with Cookies N Cream for their dessert candy buffet.
Elizabeth & Don’s Wedding
What’s better than a piece of the wedding cake for each guest…? Their very own mini cake! When we met with Elizabeth & Don they explained their wedding would be an intimate gathering of 30 of their closest family and friends. Their guests would be traveling from out of state to join them in Honolulu to celebrate their marriage on the July 4th Independence Day holiday. Liz and Don wanted to create a unique wedding cake that would incorporate both a tropical feel and the details from her wedding dress. As we were discussing different cake designs we came across the idea of mini cakes and decided to run with it!
